Welcome

I am a CBT therapist based in Kingston-upon-Thames. I practise Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

What is CBT?

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that looks at how we think about a situation and the effect that this has on the way we act and also on how our actions can in turn affect our thoughts and feelings.

CBT is a collaborative approach to therapy: therapist and client work together to help to change the client’s unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs, or unhelpful behaviours, or a combination of both.

What can CBT treat?

CBT has been shown to be an effective treatment for many conditions including, but not limited to: anxiety disorders – generalized anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety, trauma and OCD, stress, anger, mixed anxiety and depression and assertiveness.

In addition to private practice I have experience working as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist for the NHS and The Priory.  I also have experience practising Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour therapy at Mind and at a London Drug and Alcohol Service.

Some client feedback

'Kate has been brilliant, I can't say enough good things about her. She's helped change my life and I'll always be very grateful'

'I feel I've made real progress with my depression and anxiety for the first time in 10 years'

'Kate is an amazing therapist'

' It has been a pleasure working with Kate. She's warm and encouraging and I felt safe to express myself. Being free of symptoms of anxiety and panic has been made possible because of her techniques, I was amazed by how quickly it was working. The results have been long lasting so thankfully I hadn't needed to go back - although I miss our sessions! I would recommend Kate to anyone!'
